Introducing the brand new range of printed homewares! You may already know that I have been working hard over the past few months to get my designs printed onto a range of cushions and canvasses. Well here they are! 

The popular hare design is the first in the range and there are three different sizes of cushion available. They are made using a lovely soft linen-look fabric and have a zip on the back.

Matching canvasses are also available. I'm so pleased with these and I think they'll make the perfect gift!

December News

Christmas gift ideas, my work on display and some exciting news!   I am pleased to show you my new banner and logo at the top of the website which is also displayed on my new business cards and social media. If you are looking for Christmas gift ideas, my work is also on display at Foxlowe Arts Centre (until Christmas) and the Brampton Museum, Newcastle-under-Lyme (until 8th January) if you are local and would like to see it in 'real life'.  In Eccleshall, Gallery at 12's 'Art With A Heart' Day takes place this Saturday, 10th December. The gallery will be open from 10.00am - 5.00pm and 10% of sales on the day will be donated to Shape Arts who provide opportunities and support for disabled artists. For more information please call the gallery on 01785 850757.   I've been busy making lots of lampshades recently. This one will be off to The Emporium in Lichfield - but if you would like to buy it before it gets there please click here. There are many more designs available on my website too. Exciting news!   I am moving house to Whitgreave (near Stafford) in January and having a new studio built in the garden. My workshops will be 'on hold' until it's built and I will keep you up-to-date on the progress so please look out for more emails from me in the new year! The new year will also see the launch of my 'homewares', a range of printed products for you and your home, from cushions to wall art, placemats to phone cases. The samples are now starting to come back and I'm really happy with them! To help me out with this, I am pleased to announce that I have a new assistant, Lydia, who will be taking on the admin and the marketing whilst I am busy stitching!

My new lampshades, they come in 3 sizes, 20cm 30cm and 40cm diameter, they are made using hand dyed fabrics, applique and free motion embroidery techniques, also hand stitching, beads and loose whiskers on the Hare. They can be ordered via email at the moment but hope to put them on Etsy soon.

The fabrics are hand dyed and stitched using a log cabin patchwork technique the animals are appliqued then free motion stitched in place with details in couching and machine embroidery detailing. The chairs are fully restored and painted with Annie Sloan paints and waxes and given a distressed look, the upholstery has new foam and the embroidery is treated with flame retardant spray.

Both embroideries are made using hand dyed fabric and hand embroidery for a change, they are framed in hand painted and distressed frames.

October Workshop

I was asked to do an embroidery of a special place in Scotland, I photographed the stages of making it.

I selected a lovely thick cotton and painted on a wash of silk paints, ironed to fix.

chose fabircs to applique on in the shapes of the landscape.

Free motion stitches the fabrics down, to secure and add detail.

Added trees in the forground free motion.

Hand stitched a rainbow in the sky and wrote the poem requested then stretched onto a frame.

She loved it and is commissioning something similar soon.

Workshop April 13th

Workshop on Free Motion Embroidery on 13th April.
Had a lovely day as usual with some fantstic result, quite a few of these ladies are on their second or third workshop and the progression is lovely to see.
